SNS takes over as L&T’s CMD

6th October, 2023: Mr S N Subrahmanyan (SNS), who until now was the CEO & MD of L&T, assumed the mantle of the Company’s Chairman & Managing Director (CMD) effective 1 October.

On 30 September, Mr A M Naik chaired his last L&T Board meeting which was held at AMN Tower at Powai. There, to mark AMN’s appointment as Chairman Emeritus, SNS presented him a specially-designed memento. Later, AMN hoisted the L&T flag on the premises.

That evening, marking SNS’s ascent to L&T’s topmost chair, a glittering ceremony was hosted at Jio World Centre at Mumbai, where AMN handed over the L&T flag to SNS in the presence of the Directors and senior colleagues of L&T Group and their family members.

The grand event – resplendent with food, music, dance and merrymaking – marked the culmination of the meticulously planned leadership transition ceremonies spread over three months and four cities of Hazira, Vadodara, Chennai and Mumbai.

Some 1,200 people, comprising L&T’s senior managerial employees which included the CEO & MD of L&T Realty, Mr. Shrikant Joshi, attended the event, and were witness to the watershed moment in L&T’s collective history.

Honouring AMN’s larger-than-life corporate and philanthropic persona, India Post unveiled a postage stamp of him during the event.

In addition, a coffee-table book titled From Shop Floor to Top Floor, and the cover of AMN’s upcoming biography The Man Who Built Tomorrow were released by Mrs Geeta Naik, Mrs Meena Subrahmanyan and L&T’s ECom members.

On handing over the reins, AMN affirmed that he was confident SNS would take L&T to greater heights than ever before. SNS said that he was humbled by the enormity of the huge responsibility, and gave credit to the employees for the ever-growing success of the Company.
